Drying that takes longer than usual, unusual heat, a hot or damp laundry room, a vent flap that is not opening, and a burning smell are reasons to have the dryer and its venting assessed. These signs do not identify a single cause; an appliance problem may also need attention.
If you notice a burning smell, stop using the dryer until it has been assessed. If there is smoke or a suspected fire, get everyone outside and call 911. A quote request is not an emergency response service.

Ask whether the quote includes the vent run, the outside termination and an assessment of visible connection problems. Confirm whether appliance repairs are offered or require another provider. Get a written scope so you can distinguish cleaning from repairs.
